Feeling surprisingly unencumbered, Raymond "Red" Reddington (James Spader) is back and in the process of rebuilding his criminal empire. His lust for life is ever-present as he lays the foundation for this new enterprise - one that he'll design with
Elizabeth Keen (Megan Boone) by his side. Liz finds herself torn between her role as an FBI agent and the temptation to act on her more criminal instincts. In a world where the search for Blacklisters has become a family trade, Red will undoubtedly
reclaim his moniker as the "Concierge of Crime."
Storyline: A highly articulate, erudite and intelligent businessman and mastermind, "Red" Reddington, has allegedly been on the "10 Most Wanted List" of various U.S. law enforcement agencies for over 20 years. The legend is that Red is as elusive
as he is clever, controlling a labyrinth of creative enterprises, coupled with uncanny ability to gather and finesse information at the drop of a hat. On the first day at FBI for a new female profiler fresh out of Quantico, Red offers to bandy wits with
the FBI. Red promises to deliver various criminals and plots previously unknown to any branch of law enforcement... and all Red requests in return is to choose his muse. Written by LA-Lawyer
Disc 1 of The Blacklist: the Complete Fifth Season Blu-ray
5.01 Smokey Putnam [No. 30] - Following Mr. Kaplan's death, Reddington's criminal empire is in ruins and enlists newly discovered daughter Liz Keen to help him build it back up by finding the next blacklister named
Smokey Putnum. Meanwhile, Ressler puts himself in an awkward position following Hitchin's death. Aram's and Samar's romance escalates. Also, Tom Keen returns with a mysterious briefcase with a skeleton in it.
[Show Spoiler][Hide Spoiler]
Red’s whole ploy with returning Smokey Putnum to stand trial was to smoke out his girlfriend, an excellent accountant and money launderer who was set to testify against Smokey, so that he could spring her. Without her testimony the case against Smokey
gets dismissed. Allowing Red to recruits Smokey for his logistical abilities and the girlfriend, Tammy Lynn accountant extraordinaire, to be members of his burgeoning new criminal empire. Ressler’s awkward position is that the “cleaner” that made
Hitchin's death look like an accident hid some of the evidence, found out Ressler is FBI, and now wants future favors. When Tom Keen returns Liz tells him that Reddington is her father at which point Tom decide not to show-and-tell her anything about the
briefcase with a skeleton in it.
5.02 Greyson Blaise [No. 37] - Reddington enlists Liz and the task force to track down a blacklister named Greyson Blaise, a self-made billionaire who moonlights as a high end thief to help Reddingtion with his crumbled
empire. Meanwhile, Tom hits roadblocks when trying to identify the remains in the suitcase without Liz or Reddington finding out.
[Show Spoiler][Hide Spoiler]
Another ploy by Red, this one was to actually lay waste to Greyson Blaise’s empire under the ruse of trying to get him to be a partner. Red was after a key to rebuilding his empire, a single rare penny. In the process Red was able to give Ressler enough
evidence to put Blaise away thus getting Ressler’s bosses off Ressler’s back. Tom has no idea why the bones are important, but fined that Red is willing to kill someone who might have but refuses to divulge information about the bones or who might know.
5.03 Miss Rebecca Thrall [No. 76] - Reddington enlists the help from Tom to establish a plan to help rebuild his criminal empire. Meanwhile, the task force investigates a series of suspicious police shootings and track
down a blacklister named Rebecca Thrall who encourages police officers to do such crimes.
[Show Spoiler][Hide Spoiler]
Tom had to arraign to buy guns from the BLO (which stands for Beltran-Leyva Organization, the Mexican criminal organization and drug cartel also known as Beltrán-Leyva Cartel). Glen Carter (the DMV guy) fronts Red an actual million dollars (just for show)
to buy the guns and now thinks he is Red’s partner. Rebecca Thrall used police officers for the contract killings because they were usually above suspicion for the people they killed. Ressler‘s “cleaner“, Henry Prescott’s ability to blackmail Ressler
could backlash because Prescott’s career relies on his ability to avoid publicity. Smokey Putnam’s (No. 30) circus logistical abilities allowed him to get and use elephants to help create a landing strip, and his girlfriend
Tammy Lynn’s accountant abilities were used against Waterday Financial.
5.04 The Endling [No. 44] - Liz and the task force investigates a blacklister who is trying to destroy the worlds to get to her ailing son to seek treatment. Meanwhile, Reddington seeks an opportunity to regain revenue
for his criminal empire. Also, Tom hits a major roadblock when identifying the remains.
[Show Spoiler][Hide Spoiler]
"The Ending" is a term used when all other items of that kind have been eliminated (died or destroyed) making the remaining one-of-a-kind item extremely valuable. "Golden Blood" is an extremely rare blood type (only 7 people in the world) and is
the only completely universal donor blood, but those with this blood can only receive blood from another golden blood donor which puts then at great medical risk. Unfortunately the woman responsible for some of "the endings" will have to give her life to
save her son they because both have golden blood and her son need a heart transplant. A local postman was using the list of mail on hold to rob the empty houses. Red recognized that this presented a great opportunity to regain revenue for his
criminal empire. He will use the lists gathered from all of the regional post offices and use the empty houses as "safe houses" for criminals who would be willing to pay through the nose for safe housing where they will not to be found.
5.05 Ilyas Surkov [No. 54] - Liz and the task force team up with the CIA when tracking down a blacklister who is an international terrorist. Meanwhile, Reddington sets out on a new business venture. Also, Tom sets out on
a new quest to discover information on the remains in the suitcase.
[Show Spoiler][Hide Spoiler]
Ilyas Surkov has been dead for 15 months. A rogue CIA team has been acting as Surkov, planning, executing and taking credit of bombings and other terrorist like actions. But the rogue CIA team, in a double twist, figures out that their CIA boss is acting
against U.S. interest. In a sequential triple take down the bomb supplier is flipped, the rogue CIA team is discovered, and their CIA boss is uncovered. In the meantime Red starts making money on renting the empty homes as safe houses. Red also discovers
that Tom is somehow connected to the death of the doctor that Tom was using to get the bones in the suitcase identified.
Disc 2 of The Blacklist: the Complete Fifth Season Blu-ray
5.06 The Travel Agency [No. 90] - Cooper enlists help from Reddington on a personal mission. Meanwhile, Ressler is acting Director and leads the task force into a blacklister who are former murder for hire gang. Also,
Tom continues his quest in into the remains in the suitcase.
[Show Spoiler][Hide Spoiler]
The episode is split between Cooper trying to help a kid we don’t know, Tom working with a woman we barely know, and Liz and Samar trying to stop the murder of all the now extinct Seawall Travel Agency’s ex-employees. The Travel Agency was a murder
for hire hit agency that had been out of business for 30 years. The agency, run by Knobbs and Dunning extended far beyond its two bosses. There was a large support staff doing all kinds of jobs within the murder-for-hire chain of command, all of whom are
dead now. All killed… except for one man Mr. Dawson. Dawson suffers from anterograde amnesia, a brain injury sustained years ago during a botched hit when he was shot in the head. While Dawson’s wife Eleanor was in the hospital for appendicitis
Calvin took their two girls on his mission, leaving them in the car for what should have been a two-minute job. But the target knew he was coming. Calvin was left for dead in an alley as his two daughters locked in the car asphyxiated. The wife figured
out what happened and that her husband was a hit man, and used his injury to arrange for him to hit all of the old agency’s employees.
5.07 The Kilgannon Corporation [No. 48] - Reddington and the task force put Dembe undercover to stop a human smuggling operation. He later is put in a life or death situation. Meanwhile, Tom’s life is put at risk when he
discovers that Reddington has knowledge of the suitcase.
[Show Spoiler][Hide Spoiler]
This season and this episode in particular seem to be concerned with Red’s humanity. Dembe is outfitted with a dental molar communicator but when he gets hit in the mouth it stops working. When the traffickers get raided the drivers are instructed to
abandon their trucks in out of the way places and let the people in them die. Dembe unaware that his transmitter no longer works wait for help as the air is running out. Red finds the home location of the driver of Dembe’s truck but the driver hasn’t
returned yet. While he waits as Dembe and a little girl Dembe has taken under his wing are slowly running out of air, Red pours out his heart to Liz. He says that Dembe doesn’t stay with Red because Red saved him but because Dembe knows Red for who he is
but is still trying convince Red that the world is not all evil and remains true to Red not just to save him but possibly save Red’s soul. Since the son, now running the Kilgannon, operation kill the founder, his dad, and Red kills the son and gained
access to their financial records, Red might have a foothold back into human smuggling operation that he used to own. Meanwhile Tom is captured by the head of the group that killed the doctor, took the suitcase and who now wants to know were Red
is.
5.08 Ian Garve [No. 13] - Tom finds trouble while searching for answers in both Nick's death and the infamous suitcase mystery, facing a life or death situation. Liz gets pulled into the middle of Tom and Reddington's
tug of war over the suitcase which leaves her and Tom hospitalized fighting for their lives. After being in a coma for 10 months, Liz wakes up while Reddington is reading to her, and, when asked, he informs her that Tom died from his injuries.
[Show Spoiler][Hide Spoiler]
Ian Garvey sends men to capture Pete McGee but finds Tom Keen and Lena Mercer instead. He holds them hostage and after further deliberation kills Pete and Lena, leaving Tom alive so he can contact Raymond Reddington. Tom Keen manages to escape and finally
learns the secret of the bones that Red was so despirate to keep secret but before he can tell Liz Garvey catches up with them both. Garvey repeatedly stabbed Tom and his men delivered a potentially fatal blow to Liz’s head. Liz awakens from a ten month
coma as Red reads to her only to find out that Tom is dead. The time jump raises a lot of questions of where the show goes from here, and without Tom.
5.09 Ruin [No. N/A] - Liz escapes to a cabin in Alaska living under an alias to mourn Tom's death. She leaves Agnes in the care of an exonerated Scottie Hargrave. During an ice storm she finds a critically injured man in
the woods and soon after four other men arrive claiming they were all in a plane crash. Instantly sensing trouble, Liz is forced into a cat and mouse game to survive and save the injured man who turns out to be a federally protected witness. After killing
the four men, Liz returns to her home leaving no trace of herself in Alaska. Returning to Red she tells him she only wants revenge for Tom's death.
[Show Spoiler][Hide Spoiler]
Liz takes the name of her daughter Grace and after stitching up the WITSEC man is forced to take on the four mobsters that need to take the informant back to their boss alive. Their boss wants to know what the informant told the Feds. After Liz finds that
they have killed the ranger that came in response to the note that Liz left him and also killed Liz’s dog Kate, Liz tell then on a walkie-talkie who she is, that they should expect a fight and that four men against her will just be practice for her. She
says that she put broken glass in the ice that the head mob guy chews, but doesn’t tell that she also poisoned the peanut butter that one mob guy kept eating. She puts an axe in the chest of the biggest guy. Then after tricking one of the mob guys into
going into an emergency underground shelter in which she had previously spilled gasoline, she locks the door and drops a lighter down the stove pipe. In the meantime as she is trying to drag the injured informant on a sled to medical attention, the head
guy did not die from the glass she put in his ice. But she had manage to soak him with some sort of flammable before meeting him in the woods where she sets fire to him with a flare gun.
5.10 The Informant [No. 118] - Liz comes out of hiding to continue her quest to find Tom’s killers. Meanwhile, Reddington directs the task force to find a blacklister who uses his position of power to sell sensitive
information, Ressler finds himself at risk of exposure.
[Show Spoiler][Hide Spoiler]
Red has bank account number of terrorist but needs the names. Howard Bishop plans to sell those account numbers back to the terrorist so that the can move their money and escape. The hacker Isaacson is the only one that can uncover the owners of those
numbered accounts. Red gets Isaacson to sell him the information in exchange for a tattoo from Sogi-san because he knows that she does not care about money, but having a tattoo done by a famous underground artist would be priceless to her (She was already
fairly heavily tattooed ). Howard Bishop was a government official and political aide that used his position in several government agencies to steal classified information and sell it in the black market under the identity of The Informant. In the past,
he held positions in the Department of State, Department of Treasury, and the FDA, and leaked sensitive information from all those institutions. Prescott is a cleaner who solves problems for clients including cleaning up the death of Laurel Hitchin after
Donald Ressler killed her. The Informant is a client of Prescott and gathered incriminating information Donald too. Ressler learns that Prescott's true name is Mitchell Hatley and decides to arrest him even though it means that Ressler himself will go to
prison when Hatley exposes him. Red ends up being the final fixer.
Disc 3 of The Blacklist: the Complete Fifth Season Blu-ray
5.11 Abraham Stern [No. 100] - When Red goes on the hunt for a legendary treasure he is robbed of an antique penny by Abraham Stern a cunning manipulator who has devoted his life - and the lives of many innocents - to
recovering the fortune that is his birthright. Meanwhile, Liz's quest sends her down a dark path, leading her to study the methods of one of the Blacklist's most dangerous criminals.
[Show Spoiler][Hide Spoiler]
This 100th episode is a good time of multi-manipulation, a treasure hunt and twists. There are four bronze [steel] pennies minted in 1943 that together map the location of lost/stolen $100,000 Federal Reserve Notes. The "treasure map" pennies were
specially minted by Abraham Stern's father who worked at the mint. Red and Stern eventually decide to work together to retrieve the map. But after they know where the treasure is Stern double crosses Red. In the meantime Elizabeth, looking for Tom's
killer, kills Robert Navarro and turned him into a 300-pound batch of biological bisque using information and ingredients from The Stewmaker's file, as she is most definitely turning an irreversible corner in her descent into darkness. Red
expecting the Stern double cross has his own plan to double cross Stern. Lis offers to help Red recover his penny from evidence only to find out that Liz needed to also retrieve a bit of evidence connecting her to the Navarro killing. It was a fun episode
of everybody using and manipulating everybody.
5.12 The Cook [No. 56] - Liz continues to search for clues into finding Tom’s killers with Reddington’s help. Meanwhile, the task force is forced to work with a former arsonist to catch another arsonist.
[Show Spoiler][Hide Spoiler]
Vicious brutality against women at the hands of a priest who blames them for his own sexual desires and commits murder-by-arson on women. Red sicks the Post Office on the case and use an imprisoned serial arsonist named Earl Fagan who would surely offer
his expertise in exchange for a good word at his upcoming parole hearing. A tiny teenage tech whiz figures out that Navarro’s glass eye is a GPS tracking device and figures out how to reverse the GPS tracking, and Red and Liz arrive at the location from
which they were being tracked to find an empty house with a bunch of abandoned technology inside it.
5.13 The Invisible Hand [No. 63] - Reddington pushes the task force into finding a group of blacklisters named: “The Invisible Hand,” a group of people who kill victims and leave them abandoned in the Woods. Meanwhile,
Reddington lends a hand to an old associate and Liz discovers a secret into Tom’s investigation.
[Show Spoiler][Hide Spoiler]
Red admitted that he knew why Tom was killed. Tom had in his possession something that he should have left buried. Of course, Liz knew that her father was talking about the suitcase. Liz unknowingly talks with her grandfather, Wilkinson, while looking for
a Russian Operative by the nickname of Oleander. Wilkinson is Oleander and the father of Red. The Invisible Hand, an organization composed of six men who have taken the roles of "saviors." They target those criminals who hide behind their fake veneers of
lawfulness. As kids they watched their parents die after toxic chemical contaminated their neighborhood.
5.14 Mr. Raleigh Sinclair III [No. 51] - Reddington steers the task force into finding a blacklister who creates identical criminals for murderous clients. Meanwhile, Liz's reinstatement at the FBI hinges on an
evaluation with a psychotherapist. So Liz begins to see a therapist following Tom’s death.
[Show Spoiler][Hide Spoiler]
Mr. Alibi has the a real person create a set routine so that later when an imposter performs that routine wearing prosthetics and makeup reliable eye witnesses will think it is him and give him an absolutely believable alibi. Reddington stays just enough
ahead of the task force to give then enough evidence to satisfy them that he made the equivalent of a plea deal to keep Mr. Raleigh Sinclair III, AKA Mr. Alibi (played by John Noble whom we know from Fringe as Dr. Walter
Bishop), from punishment and so not turn him over to Harold Cooper. What Red want’s from Mr. Alibi is left as an open question. Liz trust Detective Norman Singleton just enough to read him in on the task force’s used of Reddington as a confidential
informant. However although Detective Singleton may be honest he is part of a group that may contain corrupt members. Liz is also able to convince her psychotherapist that although she is Red’s daughter she is not a criminal like her father.
5.15 Pattie Sue Edwards [No. 68] - The task force investigates a blacklister who creates and uses a biochemical weapon in order to gain revenge on people responsible for the death of her husband. Meanwhile, Reddington
deals with a tax deal to help with his money laundering empire.
[Show Spoiler][Hide Spoiler]
Pattie Sue Edwards worked for the United States Army Medical Research Institute of Infectious Diseases and when her Navy Seal husband was killed by his own men after he supposedly stole a shipment of opium. Finding a second DNA on her husband's returned
uniform she needed to find the owner. Using a highly contagious biological pathogen she causes an outbreak for which she has an antidote. She gives samples of the antidote along with instruction on its use to the CDC. Knowing that the CDC would run the
antidote through their DNA analyzer she attached a second DNA sequence to the antidote, which as it was being decoded is first converted to the ones and zeros act as a computer search virus while locking everyone else out. The search locates the DNA of
the Seal team member. She infected him and in a scuffle her personal supply of antidote is destroyed. Long-story-short he gave up the other members and confessed to the robbery to keep from dyeing. They both have to rely on the CDC for the antidote and
both were arrested. Her husband's name is cleared and he was given a hero's burial. - Red's tax woes are hilarious but it is finally solved by an IRS basement fire. - Liz and Detective Norman Singleton set a trap to find the person inside law enforcement
that had always stayed one step ahead of them (Damascus). Singleton discovers that it is United States Marshals Service Ian Garvey but Singleton is caught and killed by Garvey in the process. At the
Singleton crime scene Liz hears and recognizes Garvey's voice as that of Tom's killer (Damascus).
Disc 4 of The Blacklist: the Complete Fifth Season Blu-ray
5.16 The Capricorn Killer [No. 19] - The task force grows closer into the investigation into finding Tom’s killers. Meanwhile, Liz continues her therapy with looking into cold cases while as a Profiler. Also, Reddington
draws closer into finding Ian Garvey.
[Show Spoiler][Hide Spoiler]
Liz continues her therapy with Dr. Fulton who both profiles Liz and recruits FBI profilers that have a dark side that lets then find and kill those killers that were never found by the FBI. As it turns out Liz fits that profile and even after discovering
what Dr. Fulton is doing lets her escape. Dr. Fulton evaluates Lis as fit to return to duty in the FBI. Liz even offers that her father has people and resources that specialize in in that type of work. The Capricorn Killer is a former profiler who was
let-go for mental issues and then recruited by Dr. Fulton. That profiler kills the serial killers in the same copycat manor that serial killers used on their victims. The witness that could testify against Ian Garvey, Tom’s killer, is abducted by
Reddington. Red meets with Garvey and tells him that he is keeping the witness safe and that Garvey won’t see him. Also Garvey must never utter Liz’s name again either. Red says that once he gets the bones he will kill Garvey so Garvey should enjoy life
now while he can.
5.17 Anna-Gracia Duerte [No. 25] - When an associate of the Nash Syndicate is murdered, Red sets Liz and the Task Force on the case in order to recover evidence crucial to bringing down Ian Garvey. Meanwhile, Aram
considers a step forward in his relationship with Samar.
[Show Spoiler][Hide Spoiler]
Liz assumed that it was Ian Garvey that killed the Nash Syndicate associate, but Red thought it was a white supremacist, both are wrong. The associate was the husband of a child bride and was killed by ex-child bride, Anna-Gracia Duerte. Anna was 13 when
she was raped by a nearby neighbor. She reported the rape to the police but when her parents found out they were mad at her for shaming then and causing a scandal. To make it go away they made up a story that the two were in love and also arranged for her
to be married to her rapist. Her rapist continued to have sex with her until at 16 she killed him with a kitchen knife. After that she made it her mission to become a "Guardian Angel" of other girls forced into unhappy child marriages. Never charging
money she only wanted referrals of other unhappy child brides. She was caught at 17 after killing multiple men and freeing their brides. She was tried as minor because Cooper and Samar convinced the ADA that Anna's attorneys would turn Anna into a poster
child, martyr, and public celebrity and the ADA would be seen as the man who was defending child marriage.

5.18 Zarak Mosadek [No. 23] - In an attempt to apply pressure to Ian Garvey, Red and the Task Force head to Paris to track down a prominent heroin supplier for the Nash Syndicate. Distrustful of Red's agenda, Liz takes
her own path in going after Garvey.
[Show Spoiler][Hide Spoiler]
After Liz and Aram manage to illegally copy the Internal Affairs notes on the Garvy investigation, they find that every Friday Ian Garvey drives 50 miles to have a beer at a hot wings place for no known reason. They discover that the reason is to see his
surrogate daughter Zarak Mosadek. Zarak, as it turns out, is Raymond Reddington daughter making Liz Keen and Zarak Mosadek half-sisters. Mosadek is the department interior minister counternarcotics of Afghanistan, and also the country’s largest drug
dealer. Reddington, Dembe, Ressler, and Samar are able to extract Mosadek from his hotel only to find out that Mosadek’s son was the one kidnapped at the beginning of the episode and he thinks Red did it. He dumps $10 million in diamonds on the table and
begs to have his son back. Red wants Mosadek to cut Garvey’s drug supply, therefore taking away his power, and now, in order to get that, he apparently has to get his son Mateen back from the Taliban which with the help of Dembe, Ressler, and Samar, he
manages to do. Garvey meets with the woman dressed in all white who uses her phone as a translator to communication with Garvey. She tells Garvey that “he” wants to meet and whoever he is, he’s coming to America just to see him. And we finally see what
fear looks like on the face of Ian Garvey.
5.19 Ian Garvey: Conclusion [No. 13] - Liz discovers that she has a long lost sister whose father is also Reddington. Meanwhile, Liz and her sister work together with the task force to finally capture Ian Garvey once and
for all and find out what got Tom killed.
[Show Spoiler][Hide Spoiler]
After saving Zarak Mosadek’s son in the last episode , Reddington has Zarak cut off Garvey’s drug supply, and will not supply to the Nash Syndicate again until Garvey hands over the bag o’ bones to Reddington. Liz finds that Lilly, the woman she basically
kidnapped, is her sister and that Ian Garvey is like a surrogate father to Lilly protecting her from her biological father Raymond Reddington. When Mosadek arranges a meeting between Garvey and Reddington, Garvey plans to double-cross and kill Reddington.
Mosadek is aware of, and goes along with, Garvey’s plan. Red also aware of Garvey’s plan uses Raleigh Sinclair, aka Mr. Alibi (ep. 5.14), to create a double not of himself but of Garvey. Red kidnaped the real Garvey, put him to
sleep, made a plaster mold of his face and had Sinclair create a Garvey double. At the meeting where Red is supposed to be killed the Garvey double kills Mosadek instead and finally pinned a crime on Garvey in the form of murdering an Afghan official. The
real Garvey escapes Red and Dembe and head for Lilly’s bar. At Lilly’s bar Red is told by Lilly that she is his daughter and Red remembers her as Jennifer. Jennifer tries to protect Garvey acting as a human shield but Garvey using a hidden gun wounds Red
and Liz is force to shoot Garvey. "With a butterfly kiss, and a honey bee hug, sleep tight little one, like a bug in a rug."
Disc 5 of The Blacklist: the Complete Fifth Season Blu-ray
5.20 Nicholas T. Moore [No. 110] - The task force investigates the reappearance of a young girl in a cult found in a forest. Their chase leads to Samar being kidnapped. Meanwhile, Reddington recovers from being shot by
Ian Garvey and looks into finding the duffel bag with his long lost daughter.
[Show Spoiler][Hide Spoiler]
This is stalling but it is certainly entertaining. Liz finds out about the case of this little girl not because Red tells her she’s involved with the next Blacklister, but because he quickly tucks a newspaper away with an article about the little girl
away when Lizzie comes to check on his concussion. Liz tells the others that she is convinced Red was hiding the article about the "Girl from Another Time Found." Those that thought that they had survived a cataclysmic world were duped and led by Nicholas
T. Moore, the author of his book The Age of Contagion. The girl escaped the group but her father, who was helping her, was recaptured and “cleansed” by being burned alive. But the girl was later abducted from the hospital along with agent Samar
Navabi who tries to save her. The episode ends with the girl rescued from the camp, Nicholas Tyler Moore in custody, Samar still missing, and Red finding out that Naomi Hyland, Rebecca’s mother, has been dead for quite some time.
5.21 Lawrence Dean Devlin [No. 26] - When Samar lands in the crosshairs of an unconventional Blacklister, Aram and the Task Force spring into action to find her before it's too late. Meanwhile, Red journeys to Costa Rica
to prevent the duffel bag of bones from being sold to the highest bidder at an underground auction.
[Show Spoiler][Hide Spoiler]
As in the previous episode, this is still stalling but it is still entertaining. Lawrence Dean Devlin specialized in Thanatology (the scientific study of death) including holding a research position at the University of
Tennessee’s "Body Farm" (a very real Forensic Anthropology Center headed by William M. Bass. It is a research facility where decomposition can be studied in a variety of settings.). Devlin died after being stabbed by Samar
Navabi and mauled by bear. Unfortunately he had captured Samar in the previous episode and the bear, after killing Devlin, while attempting to get to her caused the crashed van that she was trapped in to roll into a river. Although Aram was able to
eventually save Samar before the drowning completely killed her, the prolonged lack of oxygen put her in a coma unable to breathe on her own. Meanwhile, Red found out that the duffel bag of bones was not being auctioned but had been sold to another one of
Red’s enemies instead.
5.22 Sutton Ross [No. 17] - Liz is kidnapped by Sutton Ross in an effort to force Reddington to reveal the truth about the duffle bag. Though Ross is killed before Reddington can reveal the truth and the bones burned,
Liz is revealed to have been working with Ross and Jennifer Reddington all along to learn the truth about the bones: they belong to the real Raymond Reddington. The man known as Raymond Reddington is in fact an imposter.
[Show Spoiler][Hide Spoiler]
As in the previous two episodes, this is still entertaining stalling with one exception. That exception was the truth about the bones. Sutton Ross is a corporate spy and thief who kidnaps Liz in an effort to force Reddington to reveal the truth about the
bag of bones. Liz is eventually rescued by the FBI and Ross is killed by Reddington as he leaves with the bones. Later, Liz reveals to a hallucination of Tom Keen that she and Ross were working together to expose the truth about the duffle bag. Ross also
brought in Jennifer Reddington to help show Liz the truth that so many people have died trying to reveal: the duffle bag contains the bones of the real Raymond Reddington. Keen believes Red would kill Jennifer Reddington because the imposter posing as Red
suspected Jennifer knew the truth of her father's death and told her to run. The man Liz knows as Reddington is in fact an unknown imposter and assumed his identity. With Ross' death, the imposter is left believing his secret to be safe once again, not
knowing that Ross had already revealed the truth to Liz. This opens up the bigger question of who is the person impersonating the deceased Raymond Reddington and why?
